&lt;p&gt;As for the foreign income exclusion (the 330 days bit), as I understand it you should go ahead and file given your daughter&#039;s current situation, but then if she does end up being out of the country for that long you can then go back and file an amended return.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I hope she&#039;s having a great time in Yilan or Kaohsiung! :D&lt;/p&gt;
